Mini Rex Rabbits are a small, compact breed with a well rounded back, well-balanced and filled shoulders that taper back to hindquarters. The head should be well shaped, balanced with body size, and set on a short neck. Ears should be stocky, carried upright, closely together and measure no more than 3.5 inches long. The Mini Rex weighs around 5-8lbs and is considered a small rabbit. Life span for these little guys is 7 - 10 years.
The Mini Rex is known for their velvety coats! It is quite dense, straight, upright, and looks spiky to the eye, but is silky to the touch. They have a very plush undercoat that is extremely soft. Competition parameters state that the fur must be between ½ inch to ⅞ inch long.
You want color? The Mini Rex is for you! These rabbits have a wide variety of colors from Black, Blue, Blue-Eyed White, Ruby-eyed White, the Broken Group, Castor, Chinchilla, Chocolate, Himalayan, Lilac, Lynx, Magpie, Opal, Otter, Red, Sable Point, Seal, Silver Marten, Tortoise, Tri-color, and more!
Their sweet disposition makes them ideal pets for families with children. Mini Rexes are affable and love human contact. Most of the time they tend to be calm when being handled; but, REMEMBER children must be taught the correct way to love on their bunny. No guidance can result in serious injury to the rabbit and/or human.
